4 Ways to Look Natural in Front of the Camera on Your Big Day

When it comes to capturing the perfect photo of yourself at your wedding, the authenticity of your poses will play a significant role. Any feeling of being too cramped, rigid, or forced will affect the outcome of your photo.
If you envy a friend or relative who always looks great in any photo they have, you must be wondering how they do it. The truth is, there’s no secret, as it’s only about how you carry yourself in front of the camera similar to how professional models do so.
Here are some tips to achieve ease, confidence, and poise in front of the lens:
1. Relax your mind and body
Do you ever wonder why birds, butterflies, and even your pets look great on camera? That’s because they behave as themselves. For you, there is no reason to be on edge while your picture is being taken. When the photographer asks you to be candid, that doesn’t mean stiffening your shoulders and straightening your back. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the moment. If you find that difficult to do, go to a corner and inhale and exhale slowly. Then, imagine yourself as doing mundane things at home while the photographer stays hidden. Similar to how animals are entirely ignorant of the presence of a photographer, so should you behave the same way as well.
On the other hand, some people tend to be fidgety or uncomfortable in front of the camera. If you are one of them, you might want to undergo yoga or mindfulness sessions weeks before the wedding. These mental and physical exercises will help you achieve ease of mind and body in time for your big day.
2. Trust yourself
As a soon-to-be wedded bride, you should have no reason to be afraid of how you might look like in front of the lens. For one, your partner already considers you to be the apple of his eye, as do your close friends and relatives. This is your big day, so be confident and trust yourself.
3. Trust your videographer or photographer
If you have hired a professional photographer or videographer to capture your best moments, you should not be fearful. You chose them for their capabilities and experience after seeing their portfolio, asking your friends, and reading reviews. On the big day itself, you can trust them to do the job that is worth your money. They have done this with other people, and they can do the same excellent work for you. Go with their flow and their directions. When they instruct you to do something, don’t ask any questions. All you have to do is smile and follow them because it’s your big day after all. Focus on enjoying the moment and nothing else.
4. Familiarize yourself with your videographer or photographer
A key element to building that trust and confidence in your photographer is to become friends with them. By showing them aspects of your behaviour, your photographer would be in a better position to capture natural angles and movements that are distinctly yours. Even as everything is about business, photography is more than that. Preserving your smile and pose’s authenticity for posterity is priceless, which is something that can be achieved if you and your photographer are comfortable around each other.
